- Columbia Roots – I have been rooted in COMO since 1977. Columbia is my home. I love everything that Columbia has to offer…from the parks and trails to the Farmers Market to the Roots n Blues & True/False Festivals! We have SO many great restaurants, amenities and activities to offer families of all shapes, ages and sizes. I love the people and community that is Columbia.
- Strongest personality trait – I think most people would agree that I thrive on organization. My personality requires order instead of chaos. I love organizing everything from closets to contract details!
- Fastest way to your heart – My husband and I read a book quite a few years ago called “Five Love Languages” Besides learning and understanding what really made my spouse happy, I discovered one of the fastest ways to my heart is through quality time; eating a nice meal together, talking a walk, enjoying our kids.
After graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in Housing and Interior Design, Julie began her career as an architectural home designer for Bulgin Construction, a respected Columbia home builder. The boss’s wife was a real estate broker and encouraged Julie to get her real estate license…so why not? This was in 1982 and interest rates were 18%! Julie believes in letting her creativity and expertise shine through in all aspects of real estate – from staging suggestions for sellers wanting to net top-dollar to helping Buyers navigate financing options to negotiating the best deal for her clients. Julie loves to stay current on the latest real estate trends by attending national conferences, making connections in other real estate communities and expanding her knowledge with continuing education.

Born and Raised in Missouri, Julie’s heart was captured by a Mississippi State graduate that recently moved to Columbia in 1988 to begin his career as an agronomist. Searching for a place to live, Rick found himself taking a lunch break and stopping in at a model home where Julie worked – WOW…real estate REALLY paid off! Julie and Rick have three wonderful children – Charlotte, Rachel and Jackson…all Mizzou Alumni. Rick and Julie are officially “empty nesters” and love to spend time with family and friends at Lake of the Ozarks.
Attending music concerts, movies, theatre, reading and playing Pickleball are some of Julie’s favorite things to do. The Wesley family always looks forward to vacationing together and usually have their getaway filled with outdoor adventures like white water rafting, hiking, snow skiing, float trips and bicycling (Julie & Rick just splurged on new eBikes!)
Giving back to the Columbia community is important to Julie and she does that in ways that are very important to her – one being an advocate for children in the foster care system. Julie has been a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and now serves on the Heart of Missouri CASA Board of Directors.
